Kelly Emmert, VP Marketing & Communications, ICON InternationalKelly Emmert facilitates and manages promotional and communication initiatives for ICON’s sales and media groups. This includes publishing ICON’s Year in Review and other collateral, developing and maintaining the company’s Web site, advertising, overseeing public relations, the conference-and-trade-show schedule and generating promotional ideas – even responding to RFPs. “If it has to do with communicating ICON’s message, it ends up on my desk at some point or another.”

Ms. Emmert began her tenure at ICON with a five-year assignment in Account Management, where she oversaw such accounts as Mazda, Hormel, Lennox, Bird’s Eye, Allied Domecq, LensCrafters and Logitech. She switched to Marketing Communications a few years ago, leveraging her previous experience at both ICON and prior companies.

Before ICON, Emmert spent nearly four years at Volvo Cars North America as a regional marketing manager. That’s where she first encountered the concept of barter. Says Emmert, “We were constantly being pitched to support charitable causes but had no budget for it. So we got creative.”

Emmert has been combining her BA degree from SUNY Oswego (double major in English and Communications) with her professional experience and creative problem-solving skills ever since joining ICON around the turn of the millennium.
