Michael O’Hara is a true veteran in the barter industry. Since 1997, Mike has worked with a variety of brands to help them solve intricate inventory challenges. In 2001, he was the first person to do a cash transaction (VSA) for which ICON now holds a US patent.
After graduating from Fordham University in 1982, Mike worked in finance structuring deals for public leasing companies. After 15 years working in finance, Mike decided to switch gears. That is where he was introduced to barter.
Over the years, Mike has worked with many of ICON’s clients including Northland Cranberry, Boehringer Ingelheim, Abbott Laboratories, TD Waterhouse, Allied Domecq, TaylorMade Golf and Jockey. As managing director, Mike works closely with sales, account management, media and other departments within ICON to brainstorm ideas and ensure a win-win, seamless transaction for all parties involved.
