ICON International has received the prestigious title as one of the Top Workplaces in Connecticut for three consecutive years. ICON International is a specialized finance company that helps bring value back to under-performing assets such as real estate and excess inventory.
Every year Hearst Media announces the Top Workplaces in Southern Connecticut for the purpose of recognizing companies with a great workplace in the opinion of the employees. Employees around the country take a survey about their company, which is used to determine the winners.
Each company is ranked based upon the ratings received by their employees’ answers to the survey questions. Three important categories are evaluated for each company; organizational health, the employees’ job and engagement. Organizational health examines the direction the company is taking, the execution of this vision and the perception of future success. The employee then answers questions about their day-to-day job such as how work fits in with their social life, feelings, and their pay and benefits. The engagement section examines the company as a whole including motivation and if employees are happy there. The factors reported by employees that contributed to the acknowledgement include organizational philosophy, individual employees’ opinion and team dynamics. Some of the comments made on the survey by employees include, “It gives me the opportunity to learn and explore technology,” and “It’s challenging and rewarding.”
